Room Captains

With the start of school comes a new class room and the need of new helpers to make it a successful year! We are looking for individuals wanting an opportunity to participate and be involved in their child’s elementary school experience. Each classroom will be appointing one or more PTA Room Captains. This role is vital to help keep all families informed and connected, and to also assist with various classroom and school functions! 

Our goal is to make this volunteer role simple yet effective to respect everyone’s time. 

Here is some information on the commitments this role will entail.

• Collaborate with your classroom teacher on class celebrations and support their needs (Ex: Help assist planning a class party, create a signup genius for families to donate items/time, prepare Friday folders for your teacher, ect.) Each teacher will communicate with you directly on their needs as the year progresses.

• Attend the monthly PTA general meetings as much as possible (in person or on zoom) to be informed/support school functions, and be a key communicator of any PTA events and plans to your classroom community. 

• Join the Room Captain group page online with the VP of community board member and all other Room Captains so you stay informed, feel supported and have your ideas heard.

• Do your best to volunteer for one PTA event this school year.

• Send a prewritten welcome letter to any new families joining your class, and give them information regarding PTA school happenings.

• Support the PTA when you can and be an inclusive leader.
